Information is critical but experience is priceless. Our collaborative process includes several phases that go from requirements gathering to launch, involving the client along the way.

The Process

The five primary phases of the Coco development process are Discovery, Design, Development, Implementation and Support.

Discovery

Coco Discovery includes the initial sales meeting, initial requirements gathering meeting and the kick-off meeting.  Site map and timeline are presented to the client.  Larger projects also include a wireframe meeting to help create the architectural documentation and proposal for the final sales meeting.

Design

Coco Design includes creating the look and feel then fleshing out the prototype (primary, secondary & tertiary) pages, storyboards and individual page specifications.  Our process starts our with artistic sketching and leads to exact HTML mockups of the final concept.  Clients sign off on design before moving the the next stage.  If later in the process the design changes, development ceases until the new design and specification changes are approved.

Development

Coco Development includes code writing (programming) for both the frontend (Flash ActionScript, JavaScript) as well as server-side scripting (Ruby on Rails, ColdFusion, ASP, PHP, etc.).  Database design, process integration, and forms development also occurs during this phase.

Content writing can occur simultaneously to the Design and/or Development phases.  Coco can provide content writing/editing services or the client can do this part themselves.

Implementation

Coco Implementation includes database integration, content entry, quality assurance and internal beta testing on the production server.  At this time the client is brought back in to the process with a completion testing meeting so they can initiate external beta testing on the web site on the production server.  After the client signs off on the beta site, we prepare for the public launch and follow-up assessment.
